How should I hang the painting?
Each painting arrives unframed, with painted edges in neutral white, on a deep stretcher. It is designed to be hung directly on the wall without a frame. Standard picture-hanging fixings appropriate to the wall and the painting’s weight are sufficient. Direct sunlight for prolonged periods is best avoided. A care note accompanies every work.
Care
Dust gently with a soft dry brush if needed. Avoid touching the surface, and avoid direct sunlight for prolonged periods. Keep the painting in a room with stable humidity.
Documentation
Every work arrives with a signed certificate of authenticity, recording title, dimensions, year, materials and date of acquisition. Each piece is archived in the studio’s records and remains traceable.How is the work delivered within the UK?
Delivery
Each painting is prepared and dispatched personally from the studio, packed to gallery standard and fully insured in transit. Delivery within mainland UK is included, and typically completed within two weeks.
For non-mainland UK addresses, delivery is by separate arrangement, quoted individually. For international acquisitions, shipping and export documentation are the collector’s responsibility. In each case, the studio holds the painting for collection or for handover to the collector’s chosen fine art courier once payment has been completed, and can introduce trusted specialist carriers on request.
Returns
Can I return a painting I have purchased?
For original works purchased through the website by private individuals, a 14-day right to cancel applies. Works must be returned in original condition and packaging at the buyer’s cost, insured for the full purchase price. Bespoke commissions made to specification are exempt; commission terms are set out in the commission agreement.
Commissions
Commissions are warmly welcomed. Each begins with a conversation about the space, its light, and the qualities the work is asked to hold. With a conversation first, then a written proposal setting out scale, palette direction, materials and estimated timeline. On agreement, a deposit of 50 per cent is held against materials and studio time. The work then develops in the studio, with progress photographs shared at natural points. Once the balance is settled, the painting is despatched.
Commission typically take several months from agreement to despatch. Faster timelines can be accommodated where a project requires it.
Return of commissioned work
Under UK Consumer Contracts Regulations, bespoke commissions made to the client’s specification are exempt from the statutory 14-day cancellation right. This is set out in the commission agreement.
Do you work with interior designers?
The studio works directly with the designer through site photographs, palette conversations, and the project’s own stages of client sign-off. Progress photography is shared at whatever frequency the project requires.
